Točník

Royal castle on the way to Pilsen. Founded by king Václav IV in late 14th century as a guard on the path and retreat. Never conquered. Later used as noble seat and pilgrimage spot. In 1920 sold to the tourist club of Czechoslovakia, now in state hands. You can find here nice exhibition of medieval construction tools and machines. The castle is still under sloww reconstruction, but very popular for music festivals and tourists for its well preserved state and nice views.
